Daniel Jacobs (36-3, 30 KOs) and Gabriel Rosado (25-12, 14 KOs) square off in a super middleweight matchup, headlining boxing fight card live on DAZN from Hard Rock Live at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood, Florida on Friday, November 27 (Saturday, November 28 in Australia). A day before the fight show the athlete step on the scales to make it official for their respective bouts.Tonight at 8 pm ET streaming live on DAZN, former middleweight titlist Daniel Jacobs continues his super middleweight journey, facing Gabriel Rosado in a 12-round main event at 168 pounds, as the two look to settle a personal beef that has escalated over the year on social media and whatnot.

If that sounds like a way to try to make this matchup between the 33-year-old Jacobs and the 34-year-old Rosado more interesting, well, it is. That’s kind of been the point of the whole thing. Jacobs-Rosado is a fairly tough sell as a main event on a major outlet, but it’s what we have to work with here. And if you’ve actually read this far on the post, you’re for sure a goofy boxing fan (in a good way, we all are here), so you’re going to watch either way, what’s it matter?

Jacobs will be a heavy favorite — all our staffers are taking him with no second thoughts, though that hasn’t always meant anything, admittedly — and he’s a level of opponent that Rosado has, while certainly being better than his mediocre record, never beaten.

Demetrius “Boo Boo” Andrade was meant to test the waters at 168 with a tune-up fight on this card, but his opponent pulled out, so the WBO middleweight titleholder will not be fighting on the card, as there was no time to find a suitable replacement, although that would perhaps suggest he had a suitable opponent in the first place, which is questionable at best.

There will be some fighters of note in action on the undercard, though. 2016 Olympic gold medalist and welterweight prospect Daniyar Yeleussinov will take on former 140-pound titleholder Julius Indongo; 2012 Olympic bronze medalist Mahammadrasul Majidov will take on Puerto Rican Sahret Delgado in a meeting of unbeaten heavyweights; middleweight Nikita Ababiy faces Brandon Maddox; and Ghanaian lightweight Emmanuel Tagoe is looking to make a bigger mark at 135, tonight taking on Mason Menard in what will be Tagoe’s first U.S. fight since 2013.

Listen, I’m not trying to sell you on anything or argue that this is a must-see event, but I do think there’s a nice chance of this being a bit of a sleeper card in terms of entertainment. We’ll be here, come on in and join us!

Daniel Jacobs – Brooklyn, New York – 36-3, 30 KOs – fights Gabe Rosado at Super-Middleweight

“I disagree with him, I think I beat him in every category, and I will show that on Friday night, plain and simple. My goal for taking this fight is to make him eat his words – there are levels to this game, and I’ll show I’m beyond this guy.

“There are no easy fights in boxing, he’s a top 15 guy, I would say he’s a gatekeeper, but he’s a tough gatekeeper, he doesn’t lay down, and if he goes down, he gets back up. A durable guy like Gabe serves as a great show, and the respect that I give every opponent is to prepare at 100 percent to give my very best.

“We’ve had similar opponents, and look at my performances versus his against the same opposition. My resume and skillset speak volumes; take nothing away from Gabe, but it is what it is, and I will show him.

“I can’t predict what is going to happen, but I can train my best to be prepared to go in the ring for the best Gabe Rosado we’ve ever seen. He understands that this is his last opportunity, and let’s be clear; I am giving him this chance; he hasn’t earned it; he talked his way into this fight.

“The main goal is to get a KO; you don’t want to be in there longer than you have to be. We get paid for 12 rounds, but you go home and enjoy the rest of the night if it ends early. I plan to go in there and execute, but we shall see what that execution looks like.

Danny Jacobs: ‘Billy Joe Saunders has avoided me,’ ready for Rosado on Friday

“You are going to see a more improved and enhanced by Daniel Jacobs. It’s my second fight at Super-Middleweight; I had a great camp, I am very comfortable at 168lbs, and I am looking forward to putting in a stellar performance on Friday night. I get the chance to shut this man’s mouth once and for all.

“For me, this is an opportunity to shut a man’s mouth that has been speaking badly about me over the past few years. We both know the things he’s said, the hate that he’s been giving me, and the jealousy that resides in his heart.”
